Bank Guarantees
A bank guarantee is a financial assurance provided by a bank to cover a customer's obligations in case of default, and it comes in various forms including performance guarantees, advance payment guarantees, (secured and unsecured bid bonds up to UGX 500Mn), retention bonds, warranty bonds, supplier and payment guarantees.

Import Loans
Import loans are short-term financing solutions that help businesses fund international purchases and manage cash flow gaps between receiving goods and making payments, and they come in various forms including letters of credit, bank guarantees, invoice financing, asset-backed finance, warehouse guarantee, supply chain finance, purchase order funding, inventory finance, and buyer’s credit.
Letters of Credit
A Letter of Credit is a written commitment issued by a bank on behalf of a buyer, guaranteeing that payment will be made to the seller once the terms and conditions of the trade agreement such as delivery of goods or submission of documents are fulfilled.

Documentary Collections
Documentary Collections are a method of payment in international trade where a seller’s bank sends shipping documents to the buyer’s bank, and the buyer can only receive the documents and thus the goods after making payment or agreeing to pay later.
DTB also acts as an agent for collection and all collections are routed through IBD for processing. The bank acts as an agent for our correspondent banks and receives bills from banks in other countries for presentation to a local drawee (import bills on collection).

Invoice discounting
Invoice discounting is a form of short-term borrowing where a business uses its outstanding customer invoices as collateral to access immediate cash from a financial institution, without notifying the customer; the business retains control over its sales ledger and collections and repays the loan once the customer settles the invoice.
