Job Description:

Responsible for the assurance of proper functioning of the bank’s IT network and communication systems which supports the IT strategic objectives and day-to-day business requirements and management of the network and communication systems team.

Responsible for the support and maintenance of all local and wide area network connections, fixed-line voice networks, associated hardware, software and communication infrastructure

Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities):

Network Management.

  • Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance and reliability, identifying and resolving issues promptly.

  • Configuration: Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

Security and Compliance

  • Security Implementation: Implement and enforce network security protocols and measures to protect data integrity.

  • Compliance Checks: Ensure network infrastructure complies with relevant regulations and standards.

Documentation

  • Maintain Documentation: Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for reference and compliance.

  • Update Knowledge Base: Contribute to internal knowledge bases with new findings and solutions.

Project Participation

  • Assist in Projects: Participate in network-related projects, such as upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.

  • Capacity Planning: Assist in planning network capacity and scalability to meet organizational growth.

Performance Reporting

  • Generate Reports: Create regular reports on network performance, usage statistics, and security incidents for management review.

  • Analyze Metrics: Review network metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.

People

Collaboration

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of network services.

  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors for network equipment procurement and support.

Support and Troubleshooting

  • Technical Support: Provide technical support for network-related issues to internal users and teams.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues and network failures.

Ideal Job Specifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology

  • Knowledge of Banking and Business Operations: Well round knowledge of ALL the Bank's operations and processes and excellent knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.

  • Risk Management: Possess skills in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to network security, compliance, and operational disruptions.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Framework: Knowledge of compliance standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, and NIST to ensure network security and regulatory adherence.

  • Conceptual and Analytical Skills: Possess strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, network design understanding, and capacity planning skills.

  • Technology Skills: Expertise in network architecture, configuration of routers and switches, network security, troubleshooting tools, and performance monitoring.
