Manager-Products

Responsible for product lifecycle management, driving innovation across products and customer value proposition in line with the Bank’s business strategy and marketing positioning, as well as provision of timely information from which business strategies are derived to support the Bank’s overall business objectives. In coordination with relevant departments and functions, the product manager is responsible for managing the strategic and tactical aspects of the existing product portfolio including monitoring the risks to the products, driving and reporting on product performance.

  • Carry out product analysis in order to assess the need for any requested changes as well as their potential impact.
  • Lead the thought process and coordinate efforts to develop products that are in line with the bank’s business strategy and market positioning.
  • Review existing products to align with customer evolving needs, market opportunities and competitiveness.
  • Identify and define customer segments and develop relevant CVPs to drive CASA mobilisation and wallet share.
  • Manage the Bank’s product development cycle through recommending and seeking approval from Product Development and Innovations Committee for all new, reviewed and recalled bank products.
  • Monitor strategic aspects of existing product portfolio and profitability including monitoring product performance, continuous competitor analysis and recommending appropriate actions, strategies and tactics to sustain product performance, revenue maximization and cost optimization.
  • Work with Marketing and Communications teams to prepare and execute local product launches and report on expectations of market size, market uptake, market share and expected budgeted sales.
  • Monitor market trends and information (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features) to identify potential areas for the development of new products, and the restructuring of existing products.
  • Lead and coordinate efforts for market and product research either through internal or external resources and aid the thought processes for internal product review, improvement and innovation.
  • Develop mechanisms and tools for continuously assessing customer needs and requirements for defined.

Academic :
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.
Desired Work Experience :
  • Over 3 years’ Experience in a Banking, and in the fields of Product Development, Marketing, Sales and Operations.
  • Highly self-directed individual with independent judgment.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices, and procedures within fields of product research and development.
  • An in-depth understanding of banking product features, pricing, benefits, positioning, design and promotions as well as lateral understanding of banking industry value drivers and trends.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong strategic perspective with the ability to influence teams.
  • Industry knowledge: Candid knowledge of the financial sector.
